Evaluation of my film.

I set out to try and show a studio set by making a short music video. I tried to set the scene of a studio set with the flashing lights and photographer. I didn't really have any influences to do this film but obviously my unit is based upon studio lighting so that was my main theme. As i've chosen a studio setting I couldn't really go wrong with linking it to my topic.
For the filming I ended up only using a straight on long shot and a high angle long shot but I made the film interesting by putting it in time with the music and making my subject (Ellie) do different things like spins elegant moves and swaying the hair. I was going to try lots of different angles and chop and change between them throughout the film but the restrictive area didn't permit me to do any low angles otherwise I would have been showing the tape I used to hold the backdrop to the wall, also I couldn't do any side on shots without showing the rest of the room, so i did what I could.
When it came to editing to film it didn't take too long as the filming went well and didn't need much editing other than cutting down to fit with the music. Also I used fade-ins and outs to change scene, on two of the changes I used an overlay of a freeze frames of the last scene, which is one of my favourite parts of the film. For all the clips I made them black and white and put the brightness up because when I turned it into black and white it looked very dull.
If I had more time I would have done more on the editing side, by putting in flashes of colour instead of leaving it all black and white, although the black and white does give it a certain elegant fell to it.
